Beacon Medical Group’s commitment to excellence in healthcare is reflected in the various accreditations, quality awards and research and development achieved by our entities:
Beacon Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), a global organisation which provides education, publications, consultation and evaluation to improve patient safety and health care quality in the international community. Joint Commission International provides evidence based health care standards that have been approved and endorsed by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).
Additionally, specialist accreditation has been achieved by Beacon Hospital Laboratory Services from the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) and Endoscopy Services have been accredited by the Joint Advisory Group (JAG). These standards provide best practice guidance assisting patient care organisations to improve patient outcomes and overall performance.
The UCD Beacon Hospital Academy was launched in February 2015 by Minister Leo Varadkar and boasts the most comprehensive private training programmes in Ireland, underpinned by excellence in scholarship, innovation in all aspects of healthcare provision and transformative management and leadership.
Beacon Renal was the first ever public/private partnership of its kind in Ireland, with the Health Service Executive. Beacon Renal currently operates three dialysis units under contract to the HSE and are the first and only satellite renal clinics outside of America to have achieved the prestigious International Joint Commission Accreditation (JCI) Award.
Beacon CARE Fertility is inspected and licensed by HPRA, The Health Products Regulatory Authority, which was designated as the Competent Authority responsible for the regulation of Blood Legislation in 2005, for Tissues and Cells Legislation in 2006 and joint Competent Authority with the Health Services Executive (HSE) for Organs Legislation in 2012. The HPRA is responsible for monitoring the safety and quality of blood and blood components, tissues and cells, and organs intended for transplantation. Additionally, our partner CARE Fertility actively engages in international research programmes licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. Our team collaborates with renowned international organisations including amongst others – the Universities of Cambridge, Chicago, John Moore’s, Monash & Sheffield and the Genesis Genetics Institute.
